January 27th, 2012
Traveling to the beautiful country of Finland should also include a life changing experience in Tampere Finland. After arriving in Helsinki, Finland’s capital, you only need to travel north on Route 3 and that will take you directly to Tampere.
You may ask why should I make a trip to Tampere? There are several wonderful reasons. One exciting place to visit in Tampere is the Kauppahalli. This is a fabulous indoor food market half way down the Hameenkatu and is conveniently close to department stores. You may find it by mistake through a hidden door. There is fish in all types of forms that you could imagine, you can also eat at some of the stalls at a great price.
Further down on Hameekatu is an Irish Pub that service delicious Indian curry, which is unusual in an Irish Pub! The shopping is also a lot of fun right in this area.
Take some factory tours at Finlaysonin Tehdasalue and also tours of the old workers houses that were used during the time of World War II.
Visiting the Lenin Museum can be a life changing experience. This is where Stalin and Lenin met for the first time back in 1905. It has a collection of exhibits related to Lenin with lots of material relating to the history of Russia as related to Finland. This is an unusual museum of an era that is best forgotten.
Enjoy the beauty of Tampere Finland in the great outdoors!
